What I’m doing now
2020 was a hell of a year. I graduated nursing school in January of 2020, got my nursing license in early February, and walked straight into a pandemic.
Here’s what I’m doing now:
Nursing:
The first year as a nurse is challenging for everyone, but to be a new nurse in the middle of a pandemic? It’s like nightmare mode on your not-so-favorite video game. I’ve seen more people die in the last few months as a nurse than I did in my years as an EMT. I’m remembering why I’m doing what I’m doing, and learning as much as I can in the process.
Creativity (in general):
I haven’t prioritized my creativity enough in the recent years. All that adult stuff got in the way. My focus moving forward, however, is to be as a creative as possible. I’m not ready to share my work yet, so please don’t ask me for specifics. I’ll be happy to show you when it’s ready.
Reading/Listening/Watching:
I’ve found myself gravitating towards books on entrepreneurship lately. I’m currently reading: The Nuclear Effect, Tiny Habits, and The 1-Page Marketing Plan.
Video Games:
I stopped playing video games for years. I’ve played more video games in the last year than ever before. And you know what? I don’t regret it one bit. I feel more creative, and it’s so relaxing after a stressful day of work. Hades is my current obsession.
